Huge life change for me. I have lost 57lbs since January 2009. Had my gallbladder out in October 2009, and found that I had trouble digesting meat. So since I has being forced into vegetarianism, I decided to go all the way by eating raw. I did a lot of research on the subject. The more I learned the more I realized that this is the way I should be eating. I dove in head first buying tons of recipe books, bought all the newfangled super foods. It seemed like I was spending more and more every week. I had 3 dozen mason jars filled with nuts, seeds, dried fruit, algae, you name it I bought it. I was hesitant when I read that I needed to replenish the good bacteria by creating fermented foods and beverages. I thought if what I am eating is so healthy for me what is happening to my good bacteria. I also wondered why some books tried steering me away from all sugar, including FRUIT. How can avoiding fruit be healthy? So I investigated further and found the 80/10/10 diet. I was always hesitant about consuming so many nuts. I know we should have some fat but according the my daily grid I was consuming 60-80 percent fat. After reading the book all my answers and concerns about raw eating were answered. I wish I found this book earlier before I filled my mason jars with crap. Oh well lesson learned. I am functioning so much better on this low fat raw lifestyle. It is not easy. But it is worth it.
